- My research and teaching interests lie at the intersection of international security, cooperation, and conflict management. I am particularly interested in how states form military alliances, manage international conflicts, and design security institutions, with a primary regional focus on the Asia-Pacific. I use quantitative methods to study international conflict and cooperation. My work has been published in various peer-reviewed journals, including Foreign Policy Analysis, European Journal of Political Research, International Interactions, and China: An International Journal. The findings of my research advance scholarship on security cooperation while providing policy insights for an increasingly uncertain, multipolar world.
I teach courses in international relations, international conflict, and international security. In my courses, we will not only explore core IR concepts and theories, but also apply what we learn to analyze contemporary global events. Students are encouraged to develop their analytical skills, formulate their own perspectives on world politics, and leave the course as more informed global citizens. The best way to reach me is via email at yinlong.li@cc.musashi.ac.jp. If you have any questions about the course or the material we cover, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am more than happy to discuss them with you.
