17世紀後半以降、欧州での宗教的迫害を避けてアメリカに亡命した再洗礼派の最大勢力であるメノナイトとアーミッシュが21世紀にいたるまで欧州の故郷とのつながりを保とうとし、DNA調査を含む家系研究を行い、親族のリユニオン、ホームカミング、ヘリテージツアーを実施していることをペンシルヴァニア州の事例を中心に聞き取り調査を行った結果を記した。
