The key to success in my courses is to be active. This means students should read actively, listen actively, and speak actively. Reading actively means thinking deeply about your reading by discussing it with your partners, considering how it applies to your life, and using it in your own writing. Listening actively means asking for more information, showing that you understand or asking questions if you do not. Speaking actively means trying your best to "discuss" questions rather than just answering them, agreeing or disagreeing with your partners, and always asking for more information. Please remember that the goal of my courses is not to get correct answers. Instead, the goal is to improve your academic skills so that you can be a successful student in English either overseas or here in Japan.
