• 武蔵大学は創立当初から、学部学科（専攻）で「専門知」を磨くと同時に、社会科学・自然科学・身体運動科学・人文学の領域を横断する「総合知」を身につけるための学びを提供しています。その全体が「リベラルアーツ&サイエンス」です。いわゆる副専攻もその一環です。それらを活用し、職業生活においても日常生活においても本物のリーダーシップを発揮できる人になってください。私自身の専門は歴史学（西洋史・比較史）で、およそ500年前の過去を振り返る研究をしていますが、その理由は現代の民族問題や科学技術の問題、宗教問題などのルーツがわかり、未来に向けての課題解決の方法を考えるヒントが数多く見つかるからです。学生の皆さんにもぜひ、どのような学部学科に属していても「総合知」の一環としての歴史的知識を深めていただきたいと思います。。
